The Late Chief Kararia.-
The s.s; Ahuriri, which' arrived 1 on Friday morning, from Poverty Bay, was-the bearer' of' 300'Ahuriri'natives,'and' the chief' Karauria, ' wh'o died from &. wound received 'at the Front.' In the affcertiiodn the funeral procession, consisting' of the'Militia, and Volunteers, preceded 'by the Brass Band,' lesft the 1 Spit, and cdfl-veyed-the'body tortffe -'Native Club House, where it' was l delivered to the natives.' ■ Speeches' were'theii' made by his Honor the and several native chief ; ‘ three cheers were given, and the procession left the ground. The * proceedings were concluded by a native war dance.
