TENDERS are invited for the supply “ and delivery of 500 .TELEGRAPH POLES, more or less, between the Bridge near Villers’ and Mohaka Church ford. The Poles to be sawn from Heart of Totara, perfectly sound, straight, free from loose knots, shakes, aiidsap. Any Poles containing the least sap will be rejected. ' ..The majority of the Poles are required to be 20 feet long, 6 inches squarei *at the top, and 8 inches square at the butt. A few will be required of the following increased dimensions : 20 feet long, 8 inches square at top, 12 inches square at butt 27 feet long, 8 inches square at top, 12 inches square at butt j 30 feet long, 8 inches, square at top, 18 inches square at butt 40 feet long, 12 inches square at top, 24 inches square at butt The Poles are to be delivered along the line which will be pointed out by the Telegraph Surveyor, following generally the present dray road as far as the Mangakopikopiko, thence coursing with leading ridge*on right elope of Esk Valley, to point above Eaiwaka side-cutting; thence following again present road to Mohaka. Tenders are to contain price per pole as per sizes given. Each tender must be accompanied by a deposit of £lO as a guarantee of good faith, which sum will be forfeited should any competitor* refuse to" sign the contract in the event of his tender being accepted. Each tender must include the names of two sureties for approval, who are willing to become bond for the due. performance of the contract in the event of the tender being accepted, and must be accompanied by a notification to that effect, signed by the proposed sureties. Two months from date of signing contract is the term allowed for completion of work.
