Colonial Government congratulates : the Superintendent of Hawke’s Bay upon the opening of telegraph communication betwepathat province and Wellington, and trusts.that the accomplishment of this important undertaking will promote the progress; and .prosperity of Hawke’s Bay, and the colony generally.

The Superintendent of Hawke’s Bay has’ much pleasure in acknowledging the congratulations of the Hon. the Postmaster-

General, upon the opening of telegraphic communication between Hawke’s Bay and Wellington, and fully reciprocates the hope that this important achievement. may be attended with beneficial results, not only to this province, but to the colony al large.
