AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKET. , Mr Alfred jßucklaki>’s report for the week ending 26th June At the Hayinarket; on Saturday last, fodder was in request, and the advance of previous week was fully sustained. • For horse" stock in low condition the prices, were low, but good animals in condition for work were sold freely, and first class are ad-vancing-in value.
At Bemuera, .on Thursday, dairy cows were in demand at prices varying from £l2 to £13.10s each. Store cattle offered more plentifully • than usual. _ There was a steady enquiry at full rates. Fat cattle' were iu rather short supply. 66 head sold, prices advanced about 6s per lOOlbs over the last week's market. The sheep market was fairly filled, principally.from .the neighboring provinces. About 600 store" merino wethers from Napier brought 10s 9d each, and 290 half-hreds, from Wanganui, from 17s to 245, averaging about 20s each..:
Bough store pigs sold at low rates, hut weli-fat-ted animals, suitable for curing, sold freely at full prices. .
. Messrs Wm. Hunter & Co.’s report for the week ending 26th June:— On Saturday last, horses were in full supply and good hacks sold well—they fetched from £6 to £9. A number of medium draught horses sold; from £6 10s'to £810s; 1 superior heavy draught horse sold for £24; Oats sold, for 3s 6d per bushel. > . • On Monday, at Newmarket, there was a large number, of cattle, chiefly young stock, which sold at high prices. Dairy: cows were ;in full supply, they sold .from £lO to £l4. Store stock were in full supply, 2 year old steers sold from £4 5s to £5 10s; 3 year old steers from £6 10s to £7.; calves from £2 7s 6d to £2l6s; yearlings from £3 6s to £4; 2 year old heifers from £6 to £6 10s each. Fat Cattle—There was a good number iu, hut were rather, dull of. sale; best quality realised about ossper lOOlbs; second quality about 30s per 100 lbS.’.-- v> ’ " - "
Sheep Market—There" was a large supply, all in sqld readily at about 6s,per head ia advance of the week previous; half-hreds sold from'22s to-30s 6d'; merinos from 11s 6d to 16s 9d ;* lambs from. 14s to 17s each; there.was a good snpplyof pigs whieh sold at high prices. ' ‘ , Otahuhu Sale—on Tuesday last there was a fair number of cattle in, which sold fully as well as at Newmarket; calves sold for £2 16s each; year old heifers from £3l7s 6d to £4l2s 6d; there were no good dairy cows in the market.

The market for aU Australian and New Zealand Government debentures been.good during .the entire month. The Treasurer of New Zealand, the hon. William Fitzherbert, is about -to announce a scheme for consolidating .all the lo’ans of the Colony, to he represehted by ; debentures bearing 6 per cent. only. -Nothing has yet. transpired, as to the terms of conversion, but it is expected the whole project -will be made public withia the next month. The time has now come for the Government of the Colony to reap the reward of their straightforward and honorable poUcy towards the provincial bondholders,, . Their credit is now second ofily to that of Vletoria in the London market.
