TOLL-GATE ACT AMENDMENT.
. Mr SUTTON moved—g |Eor leave to bring a bill to amend the “Tollgate; Act 1867.” ‘ _ Last session hehad opposed the present situation of the Toll-gate. He considered the only fair position was at the junction of Tareha’s, Bridge with the main road, so ta to take in both directions. .Mr WOOD seconded the motion.
The bill was brought in, read a ..first time, ordered to be printed, and the se cond reading placed - on the orders of the day for Thursday. ‘ VOLUNTEER LAND ACT. On'the motion of.Mr BUCHANAN the Volunteers and Militia Remission Certificate Act was read a third time and passed. The Council then adjourned.
