Rock salt, £4 ; 10s in bond. ; .2500 bushels of -oats were sold at 2s 7d; 5000 bushels :of malt at 9s , 400 chests of fine teas ex ■ Matador from 2s to 3s ; 800 cases of. Tenant’s ale at 10s. :

There is'to be a day’s racing on the 23rd instant, in honor of Prince Alfred; it will consist of a Plate, Hurdle, Sapling, Duke of Edinburgh, Steeplechase, Galatea and Railway Stakes.
Both Houses have adjourned in consequence of Mr M‘Culloch being iu communication vvith the Governor on Supply. It is rumored that the Governor is unfavorable to the system of confessing judgments.
2000 bushels of wheat have been sold at 5s net; 3500 packages tea. ex Albert Victor, sold at from Is to 2s ; candles are firm at lid. November 7. It is rumored that 1000 petitions are ready for suing the Queen for the salaries of civil servants.
Both Houses adjourned till to-mor-iow. Nothing is yet done, but it is currently reported that the Ministry intend to resign to-morrow. Messrs Dalmahoy, Campbell, and Co. report a fail supply of best quality of fat cattle, which they quote at 20s to 22s per lOOlbs.; COlbs. wethers are worth 13s 6d. Morton and Leech’s short horned cattle average £ll3 fur young bulls over 6 months old—the sale realised £5200 for 70 head, old and young.

Parliament has been, prorogued by the Governor ; there is much excitement iri political circles. Preparations for the reception of Prince Alfred have commenced—-the free banquet is j»r- gressing. Wheat is inquired for ; maize, 3s 2d. The cargo of sugar ex Thomas Edwards has been nearly all sold — die prices were firm aud the bidding spirited. ADELAIDE. November 5. The cargo of sugar-ex Prospero was ofiered to-day. 3000 bags were sold at full rates. Low yellows, £2B 15s to £29 15s; fide light yellow, £33 5s to £33 15s; finest yellow crystals, £33 12s 6d to £35 ; grey crystals', £34 5s to £36 75.!6d; finest whito crystals, £39 12s 6d to £4o* •
SYDNEY. ' Bathurst, November 6. , Mr Bernard Francis-Hughes, an old resident of Bathurst, connected with the first newspaper; published in the! Western district, committed suicide yesterday by drinking four ounces oi laudanum. A n inquest' has been held and , a verdict of temporary insanity returned. Emu Ceeex,; November 7. A shaft, balf a mile below the prospectors of the deep sinking, at Eureka Flat, has been bottomed at,/two' hum dred'and fifty-six feet, with -only the color of gold. The prospsctqrs, who about a fortnight ago bottomed at 213 feet, have washdirt that will yield an ounce and a half per load. The Wushings at the machines for the last fortnight has averaged .within a fractioii of ah bunce to the ton.

Brisbane, November 6. A large number of blacks are expected in Brisbane when the Prince arrives. They know aIL about his intended visit almost as well. as whitefolk, and say they will be in Brisbane’ “ to see whitefellow king, and have plenty corrobboree.’’
