The third seriea of colonial wool sales for the current year commenced on the 15th ult.; and terminated this day. The catalogues comprised 143,024 bales, —37.066 being from New Zealand. - New Zealand wools formed, in point of quantity, the leading feature of the, series. - Upon the whole the groypth this year, does not compare favorably with that of last season, many flocks being heavier, and,shorter in the staple. The culture of wool in this’colony has hot yet made such progress as to producegreat;variety. The bulk of the clip is still shipped in the: grease, and,'with' some exceptions, approximates to one type of character and quality; hence it attracts‘ the competition of a more, limited class of buyers - than the- p> oduce of Victoria; and suffers proportionately when the market is depressed).
