NELSON.
From Nelson we have important intelligence comprising the discovery, of a rich gold field, near Collingwood, for which many of the miners had-left their claims: The gold is obtained by deep sinking, but the return is almost fabulous, and . .great excitement prevailed at-Nelson. A murder has also been committed at Westp'ort, the victim having been found lying partly in Deadman’s Creek, the skull being fractured. The body was that of a man named James Lennox. No clue had been obtained of the perpetrators of the murder.
A great movement has been inaugurated for the reduction of taxation under the title of a Financial Reform League. Sixty persons enrolled'themselves as memcers at a public meeting, aud it is proposed 1 to carry the organization throughout the Colony. . :
