Mining near Charleston. —A correspondent writing from Addison’s Elat, says“ Several of the miners are washing up near the tail race, and getting very good returns. Delany and party have £8 to £lO a week per man, but all round me they informed me the stuff pays nearly twice as well. John Dagg and party, second township, £ls to £2O per man a week. William Mulrooney and and party, same. John Kinder aUd party £l2 to £lB weekly. Mullen and party, £lO to £l2. . M'Grath and party, £l6 to £2O. Morrice Connolly and party, on the south end of the second township, obtained two and a half grains to the shovel.—Charleston Argus, July 20. A Ntw Governor tor New Zealand. —We (Wanganui Times) have it upon reliable authority that a new Governor will shortly assume the reins of power in New Zealand.
