Nabeer Land and Building- Society, No. I.—A further draw of shares iu the above company takes place this evening at 9 o’clock. The Secretary also wishes to meet the members of the committee at 7 o’clock this evening. Government Land Sale. —lt will be seen by advertisement that an extensive sale of laud, including the sections recently laid out between the White-road and Tareha’s Bridge, is announced by the Provincial Government, to take place at the Crown Lands Office, Napier, on the 25th of September. Nuhaka Block. —The Provincial Government announce by advertisement in to-day’s paper that certain lands, amounting to 4633 acres, more or less, in the Nuhaka Block, will be open for selection on and after Saturday, 12th October.

Meanee‘Bridge. —We understand that the final repairs to the above structure were completed on Saturday last. The fact of communication being again opened up with the Meanee district will no doubt tend to make business somewhat brisker in town than it has been for the past few months. ,

Military Settlers. —The detachment of military settlers stationed for the past month or two at Waipawa, marched into town yesterday (Sunday) ; and will, we believe, proceed to Wairoa in the course of a day or two.

The Weather. —The weather during the past week has been very unsettled. On Saturday and yesterday it rained very hard, accompanied by a cold, cutting souther, which served to make everthiiag very mi« serable. As we go to press, the wind is still from the southward, and the sky bears a very threatening aspect.

The Threatened Raid upon-Napier. —No further intelligence,, to our knowledge, has reacted Napier respecting the report that the Uriwera tribe were-about to pay us a hostile .visit. Breach op Postal Service Act.— Captain Kennedy, of the s.s. Airedale, was charged before the Resident--Magistrate at Lyttelton, with a breach of the Postal Service.Aot, iu having neglected to deliver a mail from Wellington on the 25th o f May last, and fined £2TOs and- costs.
