GOLD PROSPECTS AT HAWKE’S BAY.

By the return to town of one of the prospecting parties who left Napier some three weeks since, we are able to report progress in the desirable pursuit of gold-field hunting. Very favorable indications of the existence of gold have been observed, and the party are sanguine that but for the obstruction of the natives at Taupo, their labours would been crowned with success. They appear in no way discouraged, but on re-supplying themselves with the necessary equipment will try again, when they fully believe to obtain a satisfactory result to their arduous undertaking.
