The strong W.N.W. wind was blowing all day yesterday, (Sunday) and continues at the time of our going to press. The weather is flue, , and the Spit, which wss lately flooded, is restored to something like its proper appearance. New J?4PEB ; —We have to acknowledge receipt of a new paper, Galled the “ Tauranga: Record and Bay of Plenty Examiner,” three copies of which have come to hand. A few extracts from it will be found in our present number.

It is expected that Auckland will be the first place in New Zealand that the Duke pf Edinburgh will visit. The 1 vacancy ,in the House of Representative fipr the Pensioner Settlements, Auckland, caused by CoL De Ouincey’s resignation, will prpbably be filled by Mr filerr, there being ho opposition.
