ARRIVAL OF THE S.S. LORD ASHLEY.

The s.s. Lord Ashley, H. Worsp, commander, left Port Chalmers at 4'lo p.m., on Friday, 28th ultimo. Had strong-head winds and thick weather pn Saturday ; arrived,off Lytteltou that evening, but- the weather was too thick to go in until 7’40 a.m. next morning. Left Lyttelton at 4 - 30 p.m., and arrived’at Wellington'lo’3o a.m. on the Ist of July; left again at 3’20 p.m. on Tuesday, with fine weather, and brought up in the roadstead at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. The following is a list of passengers for Napier by the Ashley:—(Saloon) Captain and Mrs Biggs, Judge Ward, and Mr,Toogood; (Second Cabin) Mrs Munroe and 2 children, Messrs. Ross, Allen, Goff, Hughes, Clark, and 2 Maoris. ' We have to thank the purser for full files of Southern papers. ' ‘ The Lord Ashley steamed northwards last Wednesday evening.
