TRADE WITH THE EAST
Australian Commissioners (Received 8, 10.<50 a.m.) CANBERRA, June 8. Dr. Earle Page announced officially the appointment of three Australian trade commissioners to the East—namely, Mr E. E. Longfleld' Lloyd to Japan Mr Vivian G. Bowden to China, and Mr Charles Edward Oritchley to the Netherlands East Indies.
A mad sweeper, at Contai, near Midnapore, who declares that he was warned by Divine voices to keep aloof from the Earth for a certain period, is accomplishing the feat by staying night and day at the top of a high coconut palm. i
