In the House of Commons, Mr. Anthony Eden, referring to the many wild accusations lately directed against the British Government in the Italian Press, said it was unfortunate that such misrepresentations should have been allowed to appear, particularly because of the effect they might have on the excellent relations between Britain and Italy, He described these Press stories as mischievously absurd and fantastic, and added, '“lt has been our constant endeavour to help to bring about a permanent settlement mutually satisfactory to Italy and Ethiopia.” (Au earlier message appears on page 7.)
