SENIOR ESSAYS
This week I am going to tell you about my animals. I have a black horse whose name is Golden Star. I ride her to school sometimes, and on Saturdays I ride her as far as Nuhaka and back sometimes. I have a kitten named Dinkly. He has a fawn stomach and chest, with brown and white stripes on his back, and a sweet little face which he pokes into everything. Next comes Honey, a cow which has an orange back and white legs. T had a ride on her one day, and thinking she was going to buck I hurriedly jumped off, but she was only playing tossing heads. These being the only animals I possess I like them very much. —Prize of 2/- to “Ladybird,” age 11 years, Morere.
