WOMEN’S GUILD
Waipawa Social Afternoon From Our Own Correspondent. WAIPAWA, June 6. A very pleasant social afternoon took place to-day, when the members of the Waipawa Methodist Ladies ’ Guild were entertained at the home of Mrs J. Ford “Riverlield”, Waipawa. Despite the inclemency of the weather, quite a number of ladies made the journey, and were amply rewarded by the sight of the cheery log fire which radiated its warmth throughout the drawing-room in which the function was held. Mrs Ford, who received her guests upon their arrival, was assisted by her daughter, Miss M. Ford. During the afternoon a pleasing solo was rendered by Mrs Ford, while Mrs W. Thackeray gave a very charming pianoforte solo. The winners of the various competitions were Mesdames T. Carson, W. Thackeray and R. L. Carne respectively.
