WOMEN’S LEAGUE
Napier Monthly Meeting Weather conditions could scarcely have been worse than was experienced for the Napier Women’s League’s monthly social afternoon, which was held in the Community Hall, on Thursday afternoon, but notwithstanding this there was a large attendance of members and a programme full of merit was presented ad thoroughly enjoyed. The following was the programme:— Opening chorus, ‘‘Here We Are Again,” Phyllis Campbell gave two recitations, ‘‘Missing” and ‘‘Chosen Shoes,” Master Orringe, pianoforte solos, “Recollection” and “Soldiers’ Chorus.” A short play was given by Mesdames Campbell, Moore, Cresswell. White, Law, Cornish and Kennedy. Tho title of the play . was “Making It Pay.” The musical broom was won by Miss Exeter. Lucky seats were won by Mesdames Moore and Franklin. Miss Stevens won the fancy pillow slips. Mesdames Gresswell, Raynor and Miss McKinley served afternoon tea.
