A tropical cyclone of terrific intensity roared into the United States from the Gulf of Mexico to-day, isolating Brownville, Texas, and causing untold damage along 200 miles of the Texas coast. A message yesterday from Browns ville says that 20 persons were killed in that area on Tuesday by the Gulf hurricane, which continued for ten hours. Edinburgh (Texas) reported on Tuesday that 12 were known to be dead and upw-ard of 50 injured and many million dollars damage caused when the Gulf hurricane laid waste the rich and populous Rio Grande Valley.
