SUNDAY NIGHT CONCERT
GRAND PROGRAMME ARRANGED Tho public of Hastings are in for a rare treat next Sunday, when the Central Relief Committee present their first of a series of concerts in the Municipal Theatre. The committee have secured the services of Mr. J. Lo Comte as organiser, announcer and stage manager for future concerts. This gentleman’s ability to carry out these duties will ensure for one and all real first-class entertainment. As His Worship the Mayor remarked at tho last community sing, “It is worth the money to hear what Mr. Le Comte has to say between the items.” A representative of the Central Relief Committee will be in charge of the front of the house, and he will be assisted by a willing band of helpers from the new Unemployed Association. Already several prominent artists have promised to assist, and the names make good readings—Mr. E. G. Stevenson, the popular tenor; Mr. Hemi Bennett, with his guitar and smile; Mr. Banjo Piper, the yodelling tenor, who is all tho rage just now; Mr. Harold Barden, in a clever chalk-talk; Mr. Ron. Knpwles, with his banjo, in popular melodies; Mrs. Walls, with her delightful instrumental trio; Mr. Robson, in humourous elocutionary numbers; Mr. W. Lord, at the piano; and several more. The full programme will appear in/ Saturday’s paper. The public are advised to book at Denton Wyatt’s, where the plan is now open. Late reserves by ’phone will be taken at the theatre on Sunday from 7 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. Booking fee: Circle 1/-, stalls 6d.
