CLUB CRICKET

NAPIER TECHNICAL 0.8. ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING. The Napier Technical 0.8. Cricket Club held its annual general meeting last evening, the president (Mr A. W. Pirie) presiding over a largo attendance of members. In commenting upon the past year’s activities of the club the chairman congratulated the senior eleven on winning the championships. Ho also congratulated E. Elliott on leading the senior batting average and E. Evans on being top in the bowling. Ho was closely followed by D. Pirie, to whom praise was also due. The annual report (published in the “Tribune” yesterday) and balancesheet were read and adopted. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr R. McLaren; president, Mr A. W. Pirie; vice-presidents, Messrs J. Dick, A. H. Annan, 8. A. Northe, 11. C. Wright, H. Pirie. C. Plestod, J. W. Olphert, J. Snaddon, W. E. Ilarnard, M.P., S, Kauter, A. A. Hastings, H. S Stepheuson, J. Swain, E. Whitley, L. Brough, A. W. Williams, T. Heath, J. Ellis; joint hon. secretaries and treasurers, Messrs. V. T. Rouse and H. W. 8. Walker; executive committee, Messrs E. Elliott, D. Pirie, A. Elliott, D. Rees, C. Elmes, I. Campbell, D. Shepherd, Doherty, A. Brimer and C. Grouden; delegates to H.8.C.A., Messis D. Shepherd, I. Campbell, H. W. 8. Walker, P. Martin and V. Hawke (four to bo appointed) ; custodians, Messrs. A. Elliott and R. Vercoe; captain, Mr D. Shepherd; selection committee, Messrs. A. Elliott and D. Pirie. The following new members were elected:—Messrs T. Foskett, L. Hawke, J. Atkinson, 11. Hodge, J. Setford and H. Eimes. Before the meeting was concluded the chairman presented D. Dowrick with a bat, for the most improved Colt during the past season, and D. Rees with the Cooper Cup, for the most consistent batsman during the season. The chairman congratulated both members on their success.
