Sir,—l wonder if people realise that asthma, prevalent at this time of the year, familiarly known as hay asthma or rose cold, is due, to a great extent, to the overpowering smell from the flower of the privet hedge. This form of asthma is very common in Hastings afflicting both the young and the old.
