On 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 26th, 27th, 28th, 31st DECEMBER, 2nd, 3rd and 4th JANUARY, Relief Express Trains will run between Napier and Palmerston North as under:— FOR NAPlER.—Palmerston dep. 12.5 p.m., Waipukurau 3.53, Waipawa 4.4, Otane 4.14, Hastings 5.20, Clive 5.36, arrive Napier 5.50 p.m. (Train leaving Wellington 8.20 a.m. —8.6 a.m. 24th December—connects with this train at Palmerston North.) Stops Ashhurst, Woodville, Dannevirke, Matamau, Makotuku, Ormondville, Paki Paki, Hastings, Toinoana, Whakatu, Clive and Awatoto. FOR PALMERSTON NORTH.— On the same dates—Napier dep. 9.20 a.m., Hastings 9.56, Waipawa 11.2, Waipukurau 11.20, Takapau 11.52, Woodville 1.44, arrive Palmerston 2.32 p.m. On 3rd January runs through to Wellington (Palmerston dep. 2.46 p.m., Wellington arr. 5.32 p.m.) Stops Clive, Tomoana, Hastings, Opapa, Pukehou, Otane, Waipawa, Waipukurau, Hatuma, Takapau, Ormondville, Makotuku, Matamau, Dannevirke, Woodville, Ashhurst (non stop betwen Palmerston and Wellington on 3rd January.) On these dates the ordinary Down Napier-Wellington Express will take passengers only for Longburn and stations south on Manawatu line; for Wairarapa line beyond Woodville; and beyond Palmerston North on Palmerston-Wanganui-New Plymouth line for stations at which the Wei-ilngton-New Plymouth express stops. (Passengers for Main Trunk line should travel by Relief Express leaving Napier 9.20 a.m.) (On 3rd January ordinary Down Express will also NOT lift holders of excursion tickets at stations Dannevirke to Palmerston N. inclusive for Wellington.) On above dates the Ordinary Up Wellington-Napier Express will NOT lift passengers at any station Palmerston North to Waipawa inclusive. Passengers holding through tickets from stations on Wanganui or Wairarapa lines may join this train at Palmerston North and Woodville respectively. NIGHT TRAINS. On 24th December, night train leaves Wellington 11.0 p.m. for Napier (change Palmerston North), Palmerston dep. 3.45 a.m. (25th), Waipukurau 7.10, Hastings 8.25, Napier arr. 8.56 a.m. On 24th December, night train for Wellington and Wanganui leaves Napier 9.45 p.m., Hastings 10.18, Waipukurau 11.43, Palmerston North 2.55 a.m’., arrive Wellington 7.25 a.m., and Wanganui at 6.33 a.m. For full particulars see Booklet, obtainable at all railway stations.
