MAHORA CARNIVAL.

A GOOD PROGRAMME,

Although the evening was rather chilly, the water was warm and the swimmers suffered no discomfort, at last night’s carnival of the above club. Some of the events ended in close finishes, which were loudly applauded by the large attendance of the public seated on the stand. Following are the results:—

Beach 1, T. Horne 2, F. Tonking 3. Teams Race.—“Mahora” (Misses Landels and McLeod, Swan) (7secs.) 1, "Wowsers” (Beach, Rose and Horne) (scr.) 2. This race was keenly contested, the first try-out resulting in a dead heat. Both teams sportingly agreed to swim it out and they went over tile course again, with the result that Mahora gained the award amid applause.
