TIN FAMINE
INCREASED PRODUCTION ESSENTIAL. [British Official Wireless.] Bugby, Dec. 6. Speaking at a meeting of the London Tin Syndicate to-day Lord Asquith, chairman, declared it was idle to dispute the menace of the tin shortage. Ho said the threatened shortage would probably have materialised this year, but for a temporary mil in the American motor car industry caused by the reorganisation of Ford's works. i Lord Asquith added that atfthe present time there are actually only 3005 tons in the warehouses in this country and the United States, which is not even a fortnight’s requirements with larger requirements looming immediately ahead. There is urgent need of increased production.
