Drunken Motorist Gaoled: Mr

Mosley, S.M., in th© Rangiora Court yesterday, imposed a sentence of 11 days’ imprisonment on Donald McLean, farmer, convicted of being in charge of a car while drunk, driving a moto’-car without a license, and procuriig liquor during the currency of t prohibition order. Counsel for the defendant stated that McLean’s license had been cancelled by the Court tor a previous offence. He asked that a fine be imposed, but the Magistrate said his attitude in such cases had been well advertised and hi could not depart from it, as he had a duty to perform to the public.
