PRISONER ESCAPES

FROM MOUNT EDEN GAOL. EARLY MORNING GETAWAY. (Special to Tribune.) Auckland, Dec. 7. At 2 o’clock this morning a prisoner escaped from Mt. Eden Gaol. He was working in the prison bakehouse and got away without being seen by the warders. The escapee is William Henry Grant, who was serving a sentence for house-breaking in Auckland, being sentenced by tho Supreme Court last July.
