A coronial inquiry was held into the death of Alfred Thornton, aged 22 a labourer, whose dead body was found hanging on the Agricultural College property. Palmerston North, on which the deceased was employed in road-making by a contracting man. No reason could be assigned for tho rash act and the Coroner returned a verdict of suicide by hanging.
