AUTOGIRO-HELICOPTER
AIR MINISTRY’S PURCHASE.
London, Nov. 16. The “Daily News” says that the Air Ministry has acquired the plans for a helicogyre machine, combining the features of the autogiro and the helicopter, with a view to building others. The helicogyre ascends and descends vertically', and hovers indeffinitely, even in a complete calm. The inventor is Signor Vittorio Isacco, who collaborated with the Spanish helicopter designer. Signor Pescara. The machine has four planes on a revolving vertical column from the fuselage, driven bv air-cooled motors,, and actuating propellers, to lift the’ helicogyre. A separate engine and propellor move horizontally. Tne Air Ministry is also constructing a flying boat on the Cierva autogiro principle.
