The Waimato Farmers ’ Union earried the following resolution: “After car-eful consideration of the new tariff as affecting wheat and flour duties, this.meeting is satisfied that the principle of the sliding scale is in the best interests both of the wheat-grower and consumer and the Government is strongly urged to nd hero strictly to the wording of the A?t and its regulations to enable a fair trial being given of th< new market stabilisation This meeting also records its appreciation of the Government's action in honouring the Premier's undertaking to farmers in Gantcrimry and North Otago to give the wheat-grower furtheir protection equal to 20s per ton duty on Australian flour.—(Press Association).
