LEE WHITE DEAD
POPULAR revue actress VISITED NEW ZEALAND. Washington, December 3. A message from Spokane, Washington, says Miss Lee White, a London musical revue star, who became >ll in Australia recently, and had suffered from a stroke, died there today.—(A. and 1 N.Z.) Lee White (Mrs Clay Smith) has appeared in New Zealand with a revue company. She was a vivacious comedienne with a most likeable personality. Her songs at the piaon were excellently done. Miss White first won fame on the vaudeville stage in America. Later she and her husband went to London, where they opened in 1916 in “Cheap,” a revue. After a visit to Australia and New Zealand Miss White again went to London with her husband, but the venture was not a success. She passed through Auckland on her way hack to America several weeks ago. and on that occasion she said that she and her husband were preparing for another tour of the Dominion and Australia.
