The fourth of the series of matches in the first round of the Central Hawke’s Bay Cricket Sub-Associa-tion’s fixtures was commenced or completed on Saturday in line weather, but on grounds that were somewhat heavy owing to the rainfall during the preceding week. Otane played thu Waipukurau District High School al Waipukurau. Otane. in the first innings, scored 44. (Donovan 10 being the only double figure scores). Bowling, L. McCarthy took 3 for .10 and S. McCarthy 4 for 5. Waipukurau High School replied with 30. Bowling. Barrie took 3 for 5, Luke 3 for 0, Ashby 4 for 16. and Dago 3 for 7. Otane’s second innings produced 39. (Page 12. headed the list). Bowling. S. McCarthy 2 for 4. Burkinshaw 2 for 8. Southall 3 for 14. and L. McCarthy 1 for 7. Waipukurau High School in the second innings scored 49 for the loss of three wickets and won the game. (Smales 10. Southall, not out, 13). Bowling. Oram (sub.) 2 wickets for 18 runs. Old Boys v, Waipawa D.H.B Waipawa High School made 70. (Drinkrow 12, J. Knoblock 11 and Cheers /not out 10). Bowling. McCarthy took 3 for 4, and Spencer 8 for 1. Old Boy’s made 49 (Smales 11 and Howland J 5 wore the only players to reach double figures). Bowling, Mehu 8 for 15, did best with the bell. Eparaima v. Waipawa. At Wanstead, Eparaima defeated Waipawa by 97 riius. In the first innings Eparaima made 80 (B. P. Wilder 23, Lolur 19). Bowling, Houghtons for 19, and W. Bust 2 for 7 were the best bowlers. Waipawa replied with 47 (Mackay 19. Verrail 10). Bowling, Bricrly secured 6 for 17 and Canny 3 for 11. Eparaima in their second venture compiled 97 (Prebble 37. B. P. Wilder 21. A. S. Wilder 13, Canny 11.) Bowling. Houghton secured 5 for 30. and Verran 2 for 12. Waipawa scored 47 in the second innings (Mackay 19, Vcrrall 11). Bowling, Brierley took 4 for 31 end A. S. Wilder 4 for 15.
