Janies Hamblen, a taxi-driver of Christchurch, was to-day sentenced to two years’ reformative treatment by Mr Justice Adams on four charges of breaking and entering.—(Press Association.) False Pretences: In the Auckland Police Court. James Stewart Grogan pleaded guilty to 137 charges of obtaining a total of £79 19/2 by fake pretences and to two charges of theft. He was sentenced to six months' imprisonment to be yellowed by 18 months’ reformative detention. The offence was committed while the accused was employed by the Dominion Oil Company as a canvasser.— (Press Association.)
