ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

A railway guard named John Crawford, agtd 58 years, residing at 14 Aimar street, St. Kilda, was admitted to hospital at 6.45 o'clock last evening, suffering from injuries received from falling off a train. The death occurred at the Palmerston North Hospital last evening of J. Brosnan, who was discovered uu conscious at Bunnythorpe in the early hours of Thursday morning, suffering from concussion, the result of being knocked down by a motor 'bus. The deceased was a widower with two children. The body of Robert Rodgers, aged 49, farmer, of Five Forks, near Oainaru, was found in a paddock last evening. Deceased had been driv ing a tractor, which was capsized. Only meagre details are available, but it is presumed the tractor fell on Rodgers in overturning. A car driven bv Miss Dorothy Burrell, of Cheltenham, was. struck by the down New Plymouth express at 3 p.m. at the Kimbolton road cressing. The department gang is constructing a wig-wag warning signal at the crossing, but it is not yet electrified. The motorist, watching the motionless sign, did not see the train. The car was thrown against the wig-wag standard, which was smashed off at the base. Miss Burrell was unhurt. Yesterday morning the four-vear-old son of Mr Thomas Robinson, cordial manufacturer, of Hokitika, was found dead in bed. An inquest was held, at which the medical evidence stated the child had apparently died from convulsions as a result of eating green fruit. The stomach contents are being sent to the Government Analyst. Last night a second younger son. who was removed 1 to hospital earlier in the. day. died from tho same cause.
