P. L. DAVIES’ ENTERTAINMENT.
A rare and exceptional treat is m store for the residents of Havelock North, when the cultured and gifted artist, Mr. Percival L. Davies, widefamed entertainer, presents his pro gramme of masterpieces at the Village Hall on Tuesdav December 6 It is a rare thing in these days to find an artist who in simple evening dress, unaided by stage effects, can for hours compel an audience te be interested in every item and ah the faculties of this eminent orator are brought out in his endeavour to entertain and his combination of eloquence and skill do more than satisfy his audience. Those competent to judge have hailed Mr. Davies' artistry as brilliant. For some time past there has not been presented to a local audience such a delightful series of pieces, speciallv selected as having the highest possible entertaining power and forming a repertoire sufficiently varied of dramatic, humorous and classical, in which emotions are qvickened by the arrest, ing realism of acting. The facility with which he 'an switch from grave to gav should appeal to all tastes. Mr Davies’ recitals are described ns nn education and a revelation to all who hear him. He makes each niece ring true by giving a sympathetic ami humorouy rendering such as to make his audience forget the stage and f lic inij eraonater and see only tlie character depicted.
