WORKERS’ COMPENSATION. Sydney, Dec 1. The first annual report of the Workers’ Compensation Commission, tabled in the Assembly, states that of 50,000 cases of injured notified by workers during the year ended June last all except 1.37 per cent, were settled by agreement the balance being determined bv the Commission at public hearings. Thn cost of administration of the Act foy the period from July to the end of December, 192(2 was I.S per cent of the premium income of insurers. The wages naid annually bv self-insurers totalled £27,000,000 and the amount of the deposits required to be lodged was £303,000.
