Messrs. Gill Bros.’ weekly market s:\le commences at 10 a.m. to-morrow. Fruit and produce of which there is a big variety will be sold first, to be followed on immediately with poultry, Included in this list there is a fine lot of Black Orpington pullets, also table birds, ducks and geese. Pigs are exceptionally good quality, some prime porkers, weaners, slips and stores coming fonvard for sale. The dairy stock are also really good and are sold with a written guarantee. Sundries include a nice 3-seater car, also corrugated iron and useful tools.
Exceptionally good entries of poultry have been received by Messrs. Smith and Sharp for their sale commencing at 11 a.m. to-morrow. The entries include good laying hens, prime ducks and a splendid line of prime fat 8.0. hens and W.L. hens, also a number of prime cockerels 3 pionths old. A big list qf sundries include two Massey Harris lawn mowers, one ton truck, a tip-top Indian motor cycle and side-car and several good lines of sundries. Full list on page 10.
The annual sale of work takes place at the Hastings Baptist Church on Wednesday next. The members of the Women’s Guild have been busy preparing for the event and articles of a useful nature will be on sale. The usual stalls will he in evidence, and with the added attractions of afternoon tea, orchestral music and gramophone recitals, a succesful sale should eventuate.
