THE PICTURE HOUSES

COSY DE LUXE

Teaming with the colour and thrills of city life, and with a human element underlying it all, “Becky,’’ the picture now showing at the Cosy theatre, takes you light into the heart of a little shop girl who is transformed in to a revue favourite. Her trials and escapades pulsate with life itself; and laughs, heart-throbs, tears and thrills chase each other in swiit’y moving sequences. Sally O'Neil has never appeared more winsome and lovable than she does in the title role, and reveals an unexpected depth of feeling in tho emotional scenes. Playing opposite Miss O’Neill is that sterling actor. Owen Moore. He plays the role of a “man about town,” who is regenerated by his love for “Becky.” The part has plenty of scope for tho whimsical h nnour of this player which he combines with some splendid emotional acting. Harry Ciocker plays the part ol “John Carroll Estabrook,” a young aristocrat who falls in love with ‘‘Becky,” and Gertrude Olmsted has the role of her sister “Nan.” Mack Swain, Claude King, and many other favourites are included in the well-chosen supporting cast Hie supports are a fine selection from ti e point of view of amusement and instruction.
