INDUSTRIAL PEACE
INVITATION TO T.U.C. ACCEPTANCE ANTICIPATED. [British Official Wireless.] Rugby, Nov. 29. The invitation ssnt to the Council of the Trade Union Congress, by representatives of a large group of employers, to attend a round table conference to discuss the best means of securing peace in industry, will not be formally considered until a meeting of the general council, representing 5,000,000 ' workers, on December 20. It is. stated that the invitation will ♦><.' accepted subject to certain limitations on the scope of the conference, which will be the first of its kind in the history of British industry. Tho Trade Union Congress will suggest that only the principles of lasting peace be considered at such conference, and that as a preliminary step they will request tho employers to indicate measures whereby greater co-operation, securing mutual benefits to both parties, can bo secured.
