WAIPUKURAU
SUCCESSFUL CONCERT AT ASHLEY-CLINTON. • The Ashley-Clinton Hall was the scene of a successful concert, followed by the staging of a delightful comedy, also an enjoyable dance, on Friday night. A party of members oistlre Waipukurau Orphans’ Club, supplemented by the assistance of Miss Major, participated in the concert programme, contributed -to by Miss Major (musical monologue), Messrs N. Tilly, E. G. Collins, and E., Haldane (vocal numbers) J Windle (violin solo.).. A. McLeod and T. Cooper (guitar duet). and F. V. Ward (musical monologue). The accompaniments were played by Mrs Ward and Mr S. H, Wood. A cordial reception was accorded all the items. The second half of the evening’s entertainment was provided by Mrs v F. Wall. Misses F Hole and E. Wbelch. who capably inter, preted an amusing playlet. “A Kitchen Comedy.” The visitors were hospitably entertained at supper. The effort was in aid of the hall improvements fund.
