(Before Mr. A. M. Mowlem, S.M.) TO-DAWs"CASES For failing to give way to a vehicle approaching from the right, Lillian B. Dyett, who pleaded guilty, was fined 10/- and £1 16/- costs. John Hepburn Stewart (Mr. L. A Rogers) ,who pleaded guilty to negligent driving on the Tutira road on October 7, was fined £2 and £2 costs. Alfred Chambers was charged with driving.a motor lorry across a street intersection at a speed greater than six miles an hour and also with cutting the corner. On the first charge he was convicted and fined £l, costs 10/-, and on the second was convict ed and discharged For setting off fireworks in Carlisle street on November .5, John Mcßryde was convicted and ordered to pay costs 10/William Robert- Gilbert. Herbert J. Exeter, and George Bull, for allowing cars to stand in the streets for longer periods than 20 minutes, were fined £1 and 10/- costs. A fine of £2 was imposed against William H. Moody (Mr. Hallett), who pleaded guilty to creating a public nuisance by failing to clean a backyard. The sanitary inspector stated that the backyard in question was in a disgusting state. George Armitage, on two charges of breaking and entering at Te Hauke and also with stealing various articles of clothing and other goods, was remanded to appear at Waipawa on December 8. Bail was allowed in a personal surety of £l5O and two sureties of £75 each.
