SUPREME COURT.
AUCKLAND SENTENCES. (Per PresN ' *snclation). Auckland, Nov. 28. Tn the Supreme Court Leslie Ward and Hilton Richard Stanley were found guilty of the forgery nml uttering of four money-order telegrams to a total value of £135. Stanley had been a telegraphist in the Post Office and was the moving spirit in the offences. Ward, by occupation a carpenter, had made determined efforts to get away from temptation. Mr Justice Reed admitted Ward to probation for three years and made an order that he repay £67 10/-. Stanley was sentenced to reformative detention for two years. Frederick John McDonald, on five charges of breaking, entering, theft, and forgery, having a bad record, was sentenced to three years’ hard labour.
