WELLINGTON AMATEUR EVENTS. ROSS WINS TWO DISTANCES. Wellington, Nov. Hi. Hose beat Bayuu in Uie three mile, in lumiu 29 1-usees and beat Priestly in the mile by two yards in 4min 29 1-bsecs. Bayne dropped out when hopelessly out of it. uenkias did 109 yards in lOsccs Sceats cleared the bar set at 6ft, but it was found that a handkerchief Had lowered the bar in the centre to oft 11 inst, C. B. Allen did the half mile in 2min. and li. W. Lander beat i‘, E. Ramson by inches in tho 129 hurdles in 15 2-ssecs. Ramson won tho 440 yards in 51 4-ssecs. The following team is announced by tho selectors (Messrs-A. C. Kitto and J. Harrison) to represent Wellington at tho New Zealand championships at Christchurch on December 9 and 10: — C. Jenkins (100 and 220yds), J. T. Fleming (100. 220, and 440 yds), F. 8. Ramson (120) hurdles, 440 hurdles 440 flat, long jump), R. W. Lander (120 and 440 hurdles) C. B. Allan (440 and 880 yds), D. Priestley (880 yds and one miles), R. A. Rose and G.- Bayne (one miles and three miles), G. J. Sceates (high jump and throwing the javelin), E. G, Sutherland (high jump, long jump, hop, step and jump, pole vault, throwing the javelin, throwing the discus putting the shot), P. Munro (throwing the javelin, throwing the discus, putting the short, throwing the hanmmer), W. Harvey (throwing tho discus( throw ing the hammer) W. Lanky (mile and three mile walk Misses G. Swinburne • M. Collins, C. Millar and E. Sharp. For tho' cycling events, T. Oakley and J. Carswell have been chosen, and one other cyclist is to be selected. Most of tho team will go south on December 7th. ,
