DELICIOUS TRUTH
Take a bunch of fur and laces And a wisp or two of silk With a gleam of finest silver And the ivory cream of milk. Cull the inmost pink of rosebuds And the moonlight’s primrose sheen Add the slim grace of the birchwoods And the carriage of a queen. Add to them twin stars of sapphire And the merest gleam of pearl Perfume thoroughly with sweetness And—you have the modern girl.
