NO MORE TOOTHACHE. DENTIST’S PROPHECY. Detroit, Oct. 28. A toothache will be a disgrace twenty years from now-, Dr. T. J. Ringle of Chicago predicted in an address to members of the American Dental Association to-day, and the toll of deaths from systematic poisoning will be cut in half. “Teeth are more often the underlying cause of poisoned systems,” Dr. Ringle said, “than tonsils, sinus or gums. Care of the teeth is of paramount importance and dental science is yearly making it easier to keep the teeth in more sanitary condition.” Man’s lengthening life, he said, ‘‘runs nearly parallel to his progress in the care of his teeth as well as his knowledge of medicine, sanitation and diet. “This is definitely indicated.” Dr. Ringle declared, “by the fact that in Caesar’s time the average span of life was eighteen years. In Napoday it had advanced to thirtytwo years. In 1880 it was forty years, while to-day man may hope to live to be fifty-eight years old.”
