A deputation waited on the Minister of Public Works at Wellington yesterday protesting against (he new railway bridge over the Hutt road being built with a pillar in the centre of the road, his being represented as constituting a danger to motor traffic and likely to cause accidents. The Minister said it was not only a question of cost, hut the safety of the railway was the first conideration. He was going into the matter with the engineers.
