SYDNEY HARBOUR TRAGEDY
INQUIRY ADJOURNED. TWO MORE BODIES FOUND. Sydney, Nov. 24. When the Greycliffe inquiry was resumed to-day Mr. Justice Campbell granted an application to adjourn until the return of the steamer Tahiti to Sydney on December 28. Mr. Holman, supporting the application, said it was desirable that the Tahiti’s captain and chief engineer should be heard by the Court before the latter came to its finding Dr. Brissenden said the Union Coy was anxious to place all its evidence before the Court, as it presumed the finding would involve an inference of censure on somebody. Mr Justice Campbell explained that the Court’s finding would be in the nature of a report. It was not his duty to apportion the blame. There would be no penalty except as regards inferences which may be drawn. A diver to-day recovered the body of another victim, Edmund Conner, of Watson’s Bay, from the Grevdiffe wreck. A second body was located, but so far the diver has been unable to extricate it.
