The annual statement of the Canadian wheat pool, just published, shows that thq pool handled during the year 179,950,242 bushels out ol a total of 335,500,000 handled in the Canadian West. The grain was shiplied to 24 countries through 60 ports. Britain being the chief importer with 50,000,000 bushels. The gross receipts from grain sales was 295,750.000 dollars, and the total costs doductable 76,815,000 dollars, leaving 218,935.000 dollars net for distribution among pool members in Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. The report states that never has there been so much tough and damp wheat, thus requiring the development of a new European market lor this grade.—(A. and N.Z.)
