RIOTOUS SCENES

IN VICTORIAN THEATRE OBJECTION TO MOTION PICTURE MOUNTED POLICE DISPERSE THE MOB. [By Cable — Press Assn. — Copyright.] (Received 25, 11.45 a.m.) Melbourne, November 25. There were riotous scenes in a motion picture theatre at Brunswick. A crowd of several hundred objected to the screening of the picture “The Callahans and the Murphys,” stating it was offensive and objectionable to a large section of the community. They bombarded the theatre with stones, and attempted to storm the building. Mounted police were summoned, and after a struggle dispersed the rioters.
