SWIMMING.

NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. NO CONTROL OVER SCHOOL SPORTS, (Per Press Association). Christchurch, Nov. 25. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Swiffiming Council the tollowing officers were elected:—President, Mr. W. E. D. Bishop; deputypresidenti Mr F. G. Dunn; North Island representative, Mr. P. ,N. Rundle; representative on the International Federation. Mr. J. Hodgson; handicapper, Mr. P. Coira; representatives on the New Zealand Olympic Association Messrs P. N Rundle and G. Camp (secretary). B O’Neil, Donald, and Wheely. In response to a question iy was resolved to reply that the centre had no control over school sports. It was reported that the Australian Swimming Union had invited Kathleen Miller, of Dunedin, to visit Australia to compete in the New South Wales ladies’ championships and NPfss Miller had accepted. In response to a request from Wanganui centre as to the legality of the projected West Coast championships. in which it was proposed that Wanganui. Manawatu. and Taranaki centres should participate, it was decided to inform the centre that the meeting must not be gtylcd a “championship” meeting.
